4 Months

I am about 2 weeks behind, but Megan turned 4 months old this month. I love this age. She's a "real" baby now and is so much fun. Here are some things Megan was up to between months 3 and 4.

Megan is a pro at rolling from back to front. She learned just after she turned 3 months old. She still hasn't gotten it down the other way. There was about a two week stretch where I did nothing but put her on her back after she had rolled to her stomach because her stomach made her angry. But she's pretty much over that now. She has learned to entertain herself on her stomach by lifting her bum up in the air, wiggling her legs back and forth, or, unfortunately, sucking her thumb.

She has also started recognizing herself in the mirror. Anytime she wakes up a little grumpy/groggy we go into the bathroom and look at the cute baby in the mirror and everything is all better!

Laying down doesn't quite cut it for Megan anymore-most of the time she wants to be sitting up! She has spent a lot of time in her high chair this month playing with toys and watching mom clean or study.

Megan has also become fond of walks because she gets to sit up in her stroller. We go whenever it's warm enough and Megan always wears her little bear suit since she kicks the blankets off the minute I put them on.

Megan went in for a 4 month check-up and got some shots. She is getting sooo chunky and is still really tall. The doctor also said she's super strong, but that is probably because her head is so much smaller than her body! :)

Length: 25.59 inches--90th percentile
Weight: 14 lbs 10.5 oz--72nd percentile
Head Circumference: 40.6 cm--36th percentile

Megan is a good blend of mom and dad I think. She is pretty quiet and solemn and observant a lot of the time, but she is also super smiley and giggly. She has even started cracking herself up. She will just babble at me and laugh and smile like she just cracked a hilarious joke. She has developed so much personality this month. She's such a fun girl and we love having her in our family.

More facts...
-Megan went on her first vacation to St. George with the Clayson family. It was quick trip, but we had a lot of fun and Megan did great in the car.
-She is starting to get a little more attached to mom and dad. But not too much yet. She just takes a minute to warm up to other people.
-Until about 2 weeks ago Megan would go right to sleep when she needed to. But now, she is getting super distracted which makes it a little harder at church. We are entering the walk the halls stage...bummer!
-She loves looking at pictures in books and storytime right before bed.
-She has found her thumb and loves sucking on it when she's tired or when she's on her stomach. I hope this habit doesn't persist.
