7 Months

Of course I'm a little bit late in posting an update about Megan. But it's for me more than anyone else, so I'm sure no one noticed. I was going to be so on top of it, but then we got a nasty strain of the flu at our house and we have been busy with it for about a week. No one come near us for at least a few days...seriously it's nasty! And no one escapes it.

So Megan is 7 months old. Time just keeps flying.

Megan babbles mama and dada. B sounds also come out once in a while. Unfortunately, mama=I'm sad/whiney and dada=I'm happy/playing. Lame! :)

Food: Megan has added sweet potatoes, peas, bananas, peaches, oatmeal, apple juice, and beans to her diet. Her favorites are definitely sweet potatoes and peas. She also really likes bananas. Oh and of course she likes apple juice. She doesn't drink much of it, but she really likes it and she loves drinking out of her sippy cup.

Megan is getting into stuffed animals. Every time she wakes up we pick a stuffed animal from the shelf next to her bed. She has also started cuddling with her blankets while she sleeps.

She is still army crawling, but gets up on her hands and knees a lot more often. She just can't do anything once she's there. She can also get to a sitting position all by herself. She has pulled herself up to standing on her highchair a few times, but I think it was a fluke.

Megan was a perfect angel sleeper from about 4-6 months (11-12 hours everynight). But then she learned to sit up and get on her hands and knees and army crawl and things have gone down hill. She wakes up a few times a night. We often find her on her hands and knees with her head in the corner of her crib (I think she gets stuck there...) or sitting up staring at the green light on the monitor in her room. I think the summer light is also throwing her off a little. She might also be going through a little separation anxiety problem because sometimes she just needs me to walk in there say hi and then leave. Hopefully the phase ends soon. Although it's been a month and doesn't seem to be getting tons better. Is this normal? Any suggestions?

Lastly, Megan went through a blinking and squinting phase. It was funny. I don't think my family ever saw her do it, so here's a video for good measure.

Cute! I feel like I haven't seen you guys in forever because she is so much more grown up than the last time I saw her. Also... Luke still has those same meanings behind "mom" and "dad". He hardly ever says mom or some similar form of the word unless he is sad or wants something. Some day I hope he'll figure out that I'm good for happy stuff too :)
